  • Charitable Remainder Trust Secondary Planning

    · Have you outgrown the need for the income generated from the Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) that was set up years ago?

    · Have you considered selling your interest for a lump sum?

    · Or, have you considered a tax-free exchange to add your children and grandchildren as income beneficiaries?

CRTs are irrevocable but most people don’t understand the full range of options available to them. For example, if you are looking to exit your CRT and receive a lump sum, in lieu on the lifetime income, you might think about selling your interest income in the secondary market to a third-party buyer.

Another option is to do a CRT Rollover meaning that you can use the lump sum to fund a new CRT to benefit your children or grandchildren as income beneficiaries.

If you would like a complementary review of your current Charitable Remainder Trust, including an analysis showing what you could receive as a lump sum or an illustration of an exchange to benefit your children, grandchildren, please contact me
